Boating Trip with the Fleshmans

by Jessica July 9, 2013

The fourth weekend in June, we decided to go boating on Percy Priest Lake with Kira and Andrew since it hadn’t worked out weather wise on the first of June. We arrived in Nashville on Friday evening after work and got to spend some time then hanging out and talking. Then Saturday morning, we had packed everything and including the  food that had been made in advanced that would be good on a boat to eat. We had made the following food items for our first boating trip that never happened: (Kira) fruit/veggie shish kabobs, meat and cheese shish kabobs, breakfast sandwiches,Guacamole, (Jessica) pasta salad, cranberry fluff, chips, salsa. For the second trip, we had the following menu: (Kira) Tex Mex dip, chips, (Jessica) BBQ pork sliders, jalapeño poppers, raspberry lemonade, and Salsa. Needless the food was great, and it is crazy how hungry and tired you get on a boat doing absolutely nothing! We stayed in Nashville through lunch on Sunday, and then returned home.

Houston Trip

by Jessica July 8, 2013

During the third week/weekend in June, I was able to go to Houston to help my mom and sister in law with my nieces and nephew. My sister and her husband were on a trip for their anniversary, and this was an AWESOME excuse to get to see all of my nieces and nephew. I hadn’t seen them since we moved in October, and that is a long time! The last time I held Jonas he wasn’t even sitting up by himself, and now he is walking and starting to say some words!!! The trip there was awesome, and Sarina was really nice in picking me up for the airport.  I tried to take a lot of pictures, but as the week wore on got lazier… sorry!

Kira’s Baby Shower

by Jessica July 5, 2013

WOW! Sorry about the huge delay in posting! I have been lazy for part of it, and once I was ready to start posting, I have been having weird issues with photos not uploading correctly so hopefully I can get this figured out. So As I said before, the Month of June was insane! First weekend we tried to go boating in Nashville with Kira and Andrew, but got rained out. Second Weekend we went to North Carolina for Grant’s Family Reunion See Post #1 and Post #2. On the Sunday of that weekend/trip, we went straight to Nashville for Kira’s Baby Shower as well. She had 3 different showers, but because of timing, we could only make this last one at their church.

Monogrammed Baby Chevron Quilt

by Jessica June 20, 2013

Two weekends ago,  I was able to attend one of my sister’s Baby Showers in Nashville. I wanted a cute gift for my niece other than just the typical burp cloth, headband bows, etc. So I decided to make a quilt. I have been working on this project for a while now without her knowing about it so I couldn’t blog about my progress until now. So below is what I did.

Italian Cookies

by Jessica June 18, 2013

This is the last dessert that I made for the family reunion. I actually made this dough at Christmas time, but it makes so many I was forced to freeze a portion of the dough and use it later. It thawed in a few hours which was super fast, and it honestly tasted just as good as the ones I had made fresh.

Warsnick Fielder Bars

by Jessica June 17, 2013

Here is the next recipe that I made for this last family reunion that Grant and I were able to attend.  This bar recipe was given to me by a previous co worker, it had another name, but I honestly can’t remember it. So our friends took to calling them Warsnick Fielder Bars.
