Butterbeer Cupcakes

by Jessica March 20, 2012

I love to bake, and the problem with liking to bake is that it can get expensive and make you fat. Most of the time with I bake, we eat a little bit and give the rest away. This makes others happy, but doesn’t help the whole saving money thing. Anyway, I had been dying to try and make a butter beer cupcake recipe since they all looked so good. My goal was to also make them very moist cupcakes so that Grant would like them. Below you can see what recipe I used.

Elana’s Baby Shower

by Jessica March 19, 2012

I was finally able to help host another shower on March 3rd for Elana who is another girl in my young married’s group. There are SO many couples pregnant right now, but this was one of the few showers I finally asked early enough about to be able to help. Anyway, all of us girls did different parts of the shower, and I think it turned out very nice. This was the weekend right before Grant left for Chicago for training for work, so this weekend was VERY busy. Right after the shower, I had Ally’s birthday party to go to. Simon and Sarah were also visiting that weekend, and so Sarah came with me to the shower while Grant and Simon had guy time.

Floor Pouf

by Jessica March 18, 2012

For this last baby shower that I helped host, I decided to try my hand at a floor pouf. I used THIS tutorial which made it very easy. It took about an hour to make but that was because I made my own piping and had never made one before.

The forgotten New Year’s Post

by Jessica March 17, 2012

If you are on Facebook, then this post might be a repeat for you! These pictures were taken on New Year’s Eve, and I totally forgot that I hadn’t posted them yet! The Reinhardts, Grashams, Warfields, and Anthony all were at the Robertson’s house. We had cheese fondu for dinner as well as other goodies, the Robertson’s don’t have a TV just like we don’t so we never got to watch the ball drop  which I think disappointed some, but it was lots of fun.

Dish Detergent

by Jessica March 16, 2012

There are some things that I have decided to make myself rather than buying, but wanted to try them before I post about them. At our apartment we have an old dishwasher that doesn’t even have a “dry Jet” slot. We really don’t have an issue with things being cloudy or not clean, I just don’t like paying crazy high prices for things. So below is the tutorial and recipe for dish detergent. I have been using it for a few weeks now and it cleans just as well as the other dish deteregents that I normally use. I normally use anything that I can get cheap so sometimes liquid, sometimes powder.

Cappuccino Muffins

by Jessica March 15, 2012

I know I have been posting a lot of recipes lately, but baking and cooking is what I spend a lot of time on. Currently, I have been on a sewing streak ,since Grant is out of town for his training, working on my first ever coat. I am terrified that I will mess it up so I am making a muslin version to make sure it fits right before I spend too much money on expensive fabric and lining.  As well as hemming and fixing lots of our clothes. Grant and I haven’t had a clothes budget in over 2 years now because we really didn’t need clothes; only problem is, after two years of constant wear things just start to wear out. Anyway, below is a great recipe for Cappuccino Muffins! This is a recipe that I got from my sister Tanya who is a great cook and baker! Honestly, I would rather just eat the batter because it is SOOO good, but the muffins baked are even better.
