For this last baby shower that I helped host, I decided to try my hand at a floor pouf. I used THIS tutorial which made it very easy. It took about an hour to make but that was because I made my own piping and had never made one before.

There are some things that I have decided to make myself rather than buying, but wanted to try them before I post about them. At our apartment we have an old dishwasher that doesn’t even have a “dry Jet” slot. We really don’t have an issue with things being cloudy or not clean, I just don’t like paying crazy high prices for things. So below is the tutorial and recipe for dish detergent. I have been using it for a few weeks now and it cleans just as well as the other dish deteregents that I normally use. I normally use anything that I can get cheap so sometimes liquid, sometimes powder.
Beth’s husband, Nick, was turning 30, and Beth wanted to throw him a birthday party, but Nick, like Grant wasn’t into surprise parties. So, Beth figured that if it is a surprise party, then at least it could be a lan party. So, Beth and I worked out the finer details of the party. We were able to use a room in the church for it, and the party started at noon and I think the guys were leaving around 9:30pm that night. Normally lan parties last over night, but since all the people attending had wives and some of them children, that wasn’t going to happen.
For Ashley’s Baby Shower, a while ago, I was asked to make chocolate covered oreos. There is a really easy way, where you can just dip the oreos in chocolate and place them on a sheet to dry. The only thing I don’t like about this method, is that I feel they don’t look perfect enough. Now don’t get me wrong there are times when look doesn’t matter, but for this baby shower we wanted everything as close to perfect as we could get.
As you saw before, I made the first stocking for a contest, but we didn’t want our other stockings to look like that one. So, I found this tutorial and inspiration here. I love her blog and read it anyway, but her step by step instructions are great!
It has been a tradition in Grant’s family to set up the Christmas tree together on Thanksgiving or the day after. I meant to start on Thanksgiving, but I think it really happened the day after. Grant and Gail were happy to let me work and I was happy to do it.
