Our Second and unexpected Christmas!

by Jessica January 13, 2011

Here are some of the Christmas decorations that I made/got this year! Grant and I went to Ohio for Christmas this year, and were planning on spending my one day off in Austin just hanging out.  This would have been our first time as a couple spending a holiday without family. But alas, life doesn’t happen as you always plan it.

Our New and Improved Dining Set!

by Jessica January 5, 2011

Grant and I said we weren’t a huge fan of the chairs, but they are chairs. The chairs natural coloring goes well with the green on the glass, but “we” as in I decided that a different color was needed. I bought framed art from Ikea as well, and so we decided to match that.

The Joys of Craigslist and the deceit of Ikea

by Jessica January 5, 2011

So my company has cut some of our hours until business picks up which means that I have had a little bit more time at home. The Year of the DSLR

by Jessica January 2, 2011

This year Tanya & Wilson, Daniel & Sarina, and Grant & I all bought DSLR cameras without knowing the other ones were getting some! So this isn’t any type of competition, but I know Grant and I are totally stoked about the fact that we will keep having more and more amazing pictures of family and friends! The Robertsons and the Grashams both have Sony Cameras, and the Warfields got a Nikon! All of the cameras have different pros and cons as it is with all cameras, but Grant and I have been trying to play with as many features as possible since we are total noobs, but we will learn eventually!

Our Christmas

by Jessica December 28, 2010

This year, is our “off” year as my parents refer to it meaning that all of their children are at their in-law’s houses. So, off to Ohio we went. Grant and I found out that our brother in law Bryan wasn’t getting time around Christmas off.  His family has so many people to plan around and so we all decided we would have it early this year. Also, the flights are 50% cheaper if you fly before the 15th of December. We got a great deal on tickets, and Bryan and Amanda covered some of the tickets as our Christmas gift from them.
