Here is another great recipe that I have made a few times thanks to Tanya sharing another great recipe!
I grew up learning to sew because of my mom, grandma, and various family friends. I remember sewing doll quilts, an ugly stuffed animal “wolf”, and fabric dolls among other things. While in college I did more construction and sewing like fully lined curtains and padded head boards, and since I have been out of school most of my projects were baby shower gifts from burp cloths to floor poufs. I have always done some minor fixes to clothing like shortening a dress, making a pillow case smaller, or sewing on buttons but nothing crazy intensive. I also learned lots of other things like crocheting and knitting, but lately I have been on a sewing kick. I have been wanting to expand my skills since I feel in the area of clothing construction I am still in the beginning stages. My mom taught me to be resourceful, take things one step at a time and believe that I can accomplish things when I set my mind to them. Below are pictures and information about the jacket that I sewed.
A lot of the blogs that I read have been doing a feature on Christmas in July, and this might sound kind of crazy, but if you are planning on making gifts, this is a great time to start thinking about what you want to make and for whom, etc. This project that I will show, is actually for me, and one that I didn’t get finished around Christmas time last year.
Not all pasta salads are the same! I was never a fan of pasta salad; at potlucks growing up, it was cold, dry or soggy, and had black olives in them. I gave it a few tries since I like noodles, but eventually gave up! Now, Grant really likes Pasta salad because his Aunt Sandi had this amazing recipe that no one could make as well as she did. I believed him but never thought twice about making it. If Grant’s mom, Gail, who is a great cook can’t make it right then I had NO chance! Well, one day I got up the courage to email Sandi and try to make this recipe and pray that I actually liked it. Well it turns out that this recipe is AMAZING! I love it and crave it way too often, and I don’t think I make it as well as Sandi, but Grant eats it without any complaints and get 3rds and 4th helpings so it probably good enough ;p Below are my step by step instructions.
I am sorry if it gets annoying about how I enter so many giveaways on Facebook, but I actually win a lot of them too! This is one that I won from Wholly Salsa/Guacamole, where they sent me one of every type of their salsa and Guacamole. Most of theirs are really really good, but my favorite so far is the Guacamole and Spicy Pico it is very spicy but SO good. This has been awesome for lunches because for me the Guacamole has snack packs or you can just take a whole container. The roasted tomato tastes the most like restaurant salsa with a more smooth texture, and the red pepper mango would be amazing as a garnish on fish or chicken! I don’t know all the stores that sell them  but for sure Walmart does.
