Home RecipesAppetizers Harry Potter Cooking Club
In October, it was my turn to host cooking club. This is a fun monthly get together that a few girls from our church and other friends in Huntsville go to. The host can either pick a restaurant to “host” at since a lot of us have younger kids and cleaning your house is more stressful these days, and those who want to attend RSVP, just attend like a girl’s night out. If you as the host decide to host at your house, you can pick a theme if you want, and then you can also pick all of the recipes that everyone who comes will make. Then you eat all of the recipes potluck style. So once you know how many people will come, you can assign them the recipes. You as the guest, make the dish you were assigned, and everyone is given a copy of each recipe. It is a great way to try 8+ recipes, and if you like one, you don’t have to ask for a copy because you already have one.

Since I was hosting in October, and had some Harry Potter Decor that worked, I decided to use that as my theme.

We tend to give a small favor, so the mini pumpkins that I found at Target were the favors that everyone could take home since I hosted the weekend before Halloween.

Normally the host just cleans their place, organizes the recipes, and provides the favor and drinks. I got the Banner Printables from HERE.

We had a few people who had to cancel last minute, so I made these pumpkin hand pies or “Pumpkin Pasties.”

I also made these butterbeer cupcakes because I had made them before, and I knew they were amazing.

The random assortment of drinks I provided. The Milo’s sweet tea is a well loved brand here, and I have to admit I like it too.

The pretty flowers that were sent to me from Pro Flowers that I was able to reuse for this event.

The Harry Potter “Decor.” When you have a mobile Baby that just went to bed, there was only so much I could do,but I figured better than nothing.

I almost hung christmas lights from the rafters in our den to look like the ceiling in Hogwarts, but I decided that was just too much work.

Reused from my awesome baby shower, and I also played the Harry Potter soundtrack in the background.
