So we currently have an Ikea dresser which has held up very well considering we bought it used. We have wanted to build ourselves some real wooden bedroom furniture, but for a while we didn’t know where we would be living or how much room we would have whenever we did get a house. So, now that we have a house, we still plan to build ourselves new bedroom furniture. However, our current set still functions very well, so we haven’t really gotten to that point since there are so many other things that are a higher priority for us. Our ikea set is made with particle board which has held up well, but the drawer bottoms are a cheap thin almost cardboard type material. So even though I don’t put super heavy stuff in it, over time it does tend to sag. So, we started looking up a way to fix it without having to get rid of the dresser. Some tutorials pretty much show building a new drawer and attached it to the existing face frame which would be doable, but just overkill for how much longer this dresser might actually last us.
Fix
So a year or two ago, I got a pair of almost free glasses when costal contacts was having a deal. My old pair was an old prescription and looking terrible since the sides of them were turning white since my hair spray was messing it up. So I took the measurements off that pair and got a pair as close as possible. I had to pay shipping and for more expensive lenses because my prescription is higher, but $35 dollars for a pair of glasses was a steal to me. They lasted me long enough for me to get my money’s worth, but last week I was drying the lenses, and they literally  just broke in half in my hand. I am REALLY careful with my glasses and my last two pairs have lasted over 6 years without any scratches on the lenses so I was sad. I have another pair of frameless glasses that I am wearing now and contacts as well. I was wondering if there was a way to fix them. So I googled it.
This post has been a long time in coming, I don’t own a lot of purses because I want the ones I do have to be good quality and to last a while. I used to buy really inexpensive purses, but after having to replace them multiple times a year I decided that I would invest in a real leather purse so that it would hold up better. So, to the clearance section of the Coach outlet store I went. I found this green purse, and I used it exclusively for over 2 years. The only thing that started to wear out was the edging on the strap which I would say shows the good quality. Then came the biggest problem of all, what ist that edging stuff made out of? What is it called? How come NO ONE has a tutorial on how to fix it?! I literally searched the most random websites trying to figure this out. I eventually found places that would replace the straps but couldn’t guarantee the color matching, and they charged over $100 which is how much I paid in the first place. So, I just kept wearing the purse like that and searching.
