Two weekends ago, I visited Nashville to be able to see my Sister Tanya who was visiting to help my Sister Kira and Brother in Law Andrew with Alana, cooking, cleaning, etc.
So as you saw in the previous post, we celebrated our 5 year anniversary. We looked into all of the expensive places to eat here, but Grant was wanting ribs, and I was wanting slow cooked steak with a mushroom sauce. So, we just went to Outback Steak House since they had both of those dishes. I know that might seem kind of lame for the 5 year dinner, but we both wanted to go there and were happy.
Today is Grant and my 5th wedding Anniversary which is insane to think about. We have been so blessed throughout our marriage, and we have to remind each other that we have been married as long as we have because sometimes it seems too easy. We have had our ups and downs which mainly came from life circumstances rather than actual issues in our marriage, but I am sure those times will come. I love that Grant and I have always had the same goals that we are working toward. This last year has been pretty busy as well with moving cross country and slowly getting used to living somewhere new. If you had told us a year ago that we would have moved etc., we would have laughed at you. Thank goodness God’s plans are better than we can imagine even if we did have to wait a long time for it. It is amazing, I keep thinking life is too good to be true; that we are being blessed too much, but of course am so grateful! I have loved being able to experience life with Grant who definitely has all of the qualities that I lack and can’t wait to see what will happen in the future. I love you Grant!
I have said in previous posts that as of now we are hesitant to buy a lot of things for our condo because in a few years we might move again and have a different configuration of rooms, etc. But I was literally jumping up and down when I found out that I had won a 6’x9′ Smartstrand carpet from Mohawk Flooring. Giveaway I won. We were allowed to pick from 40 different colors HERE, and it was shipped to us for free. It arrived WAY faster than I was expecting, but below are pictures of the process.
I like making truffles, especially for gifts at the holidays. They are really tasty, and you don’t have to give a ton for a satisfying gift. I started seeing all of these amazing fall post on pinterest, and it was time to make these. I was in Dime Box, TX at my parent’s place when I took these pictures; it was fun having a bigger kitchen with better lighting. I found this recipe and the instructions on how to make these truffles with molds here. I have one recipe that is the normal dark chocolate truffles with hazelnut liquor, that has a nice firm ganache in it. This recipe like my mint truffles, has a more liquid filling so requires a mold rather than hand rolling like other truffles.
